A poster/ illustration for House X by Peter Eisenman.
The letters are placed on the paper in an arrangement as a cube spread. The colours are referring to the basic colours that Eisenman used for his illustrations.
Please feel free to check other colour combinations and let me know what you think.

although feng shui advices me the orange colour because its the one with the most positive energy... you actually dont have it! so i ll take one magenta please -to go.
can we also change the white bits and pieces to black? just kidding ;P

heh, thanx mamute. You seem to be the only person who actually voted so you definately deserve one! :)

yes, for a reason I think that adding colour to it is quite 'decorative' without any reason. The siplicity of b&w definately leaves more space for the complexity of the illustration itself.

Finally, the posters were screen-printed! Three different versions were attempted and although the results of the white background as well as the black background ones were very satisfying, the green background with the black letters seemed a bit to optimistic (it was more than hard trying to register the two screens so that all the fine details were printed in place!). There are 12 copies of them (6 of each) so if you are interested contact me on my email to have one.

i love the forms you came out with..it s like some kind of distorted font... or a spacecraft design..

I d go with b/w or grey.
But, if you don t mind, i d like to show you another color suggestion: http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/743/2427/1600/346219/rgb_dimension.jpg

Although the "rgb dimension"(that i proposed) is really complex and does not help others to understand your forms clearly...it gives some sort of optical illusion and maybe some extra feelings for the viewer..
Or maybe this was a bad "montaz" result...but mistakes, some times, bring out masterpieces.

have a great day ;-)

NiT, I am really really curious to see what you came up with. Link is not working though, so please re upload it and let me know! :)

NiT, sorry for previous post, I finally managed to see your proposal.

I like the outcome of RGB (maybe it would be intresting to create this through a short animation where the colors split and move).
On the other hand, I wouldn't want to complicate more this very complicated process (at least on the presentation of a poster).

Another idea that this gave me, is the rotation of the different RGB colours on different axis (maybe 45 degrees?) that would follow Eisenman's concepts on the creation of the House X.

Anyway, this is more than great feedback and I feel very honoured that something you found here, gave even a small kick on your creativity.

At the moment I am trying to jump onto something else and finish this endless process on typography.

I am willing to do a mapping attempt of the whole process and try to visualise the various routes that these experiments lead me..
